I thought of a possible explination of why the Avengers aren't missed at home. Maybe Thistle cast a spell to erase the memories of the family/friends of Kit, Bentley, Gusto, Lapitch, and Cubbi to protect them. Should any one of them decide they need to return home as their secret identity, Thistle could undo the spell. I thought of this after listening to the soundtrack to Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Pt 1 where Hermoine erases her parents memories to protect them.
